Own Motion Investigations

The Office of the Ombudsman, on its own initiative, may investigate government activities and practices. These are usually initiated to address systemic concerns. We can also continue an investigation without the cooperation of the complainant where circumstances warrant through own motion investigations. This is done to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed and that policies and procedures are fair.
