Gaelic Language in the Community Program
Nova Scotia's Gaelic language and vibrant cultural expressions are a distinguished part of the province's cultural mosaic, contributing significantly to the province's diversity, social well being, cohesiveness, creativity and economy.
Gaelic Language in the Community Program assists non-profit organizations in Nova Scotia with Gaelic language and cultural projects that increase Gaelic learning opportunities, encourage and promote Gaelic cultural expression and strengthen Gaelic organizational and community capacity.

2008 Gaelic Activities Program Funding Recipients
Gaelic Activities Program continues to invest in Gaelic communities.
More than $14,500 was invested in Gaelic language and promotion under the November 15, 2008 deadline of the Gaelic Activities Program.
Volunteer organizations across the province continue to organize Gaelic language classes and weekend workshops to support beginning and advanced learners in their community. Other projects, such as the project by Comunn Gàidhlig is Eachdraidh a’ Bhràigh, which raise awareness of Gaelic language and culture, are also considered under the Gaelic Activities Program.
The Gaelic Activities Program funds projects that increase number and quality of Gaelic language opportunities in Nova Scotia and raise awareness, interest and participation in Gaelic language and cultural activities. The program deadlines are February 15, May 15, August 15 and November 15.
