Opportunities for Youth
The Nova Scotia Youth Conservation Corps (NSYCC) works closely with community partners and youth across Nova Scotia. We believe that youth are not only the future, but youth are NOW! The NSYCC aims to increase environmental awareness and create leadership opportunities for Nova Scotia youth. The NSYCC coordinates three main programs though out the year.
The Regular Summer Program provides youth with training and employment opportunities in the environmental field. It also helps community partners enhance the local environment through projects.
The Environmental Leadership Program is a partnership between NSYCC and a non-profit environmental and community development organization in Costa Rica. The program exposes young Nova Scotians to community-based environmental education and activities in both Costa Rica and Nova Scotia.
The EN-Vision Program recognizes that young people around the province have ideas for projects that are aimed at improving the environment at the community level. The NSYCC is able to provide support (both financial and otherwise) to individuals and groups who submit an application.
