Indian Man Lake Nature Reserve
Indian Man Lake Nature Reserve is located near Lower Caledonia, Guysborough County, in the St. Marys Plain Natural Landscape. It protects a mature, mixed wood forest featuring a stand of large red oaks mixed with white pine, red maple, and white birch. The forest type is rare in eastern mainland Nova Scotia, and uncommon in the province as a whole, being most common in the southwest, where it accounts for about 5% of the forest.
