Nova Scotia Environment focuses on climate change, protecting our environment and advancing our ambitious environmental goals. This newly created department is continuing the work that has made Nova Scotia a leader in achieving environmentally-sustainable economic prosperity.

Major program responsibilities for Nova Scotia Environment are environmental and natural areas management, environmental monitoring and compliance, and climate change. Pollution prevention, the NS Youth Conservation Corps., solid waste reduction and recycling, and environmental trade and innovation are all part of the new Nova Scotia Environment.
