On July 18th, NSARM took a trip to Shelburne to launch its newest virtual exhibit, The Captain Gideon White Family Papers, as part of the 225th anniversary of the Loyalist landing in Shelburne.

The launch was held at the Osprey Arts Centre, and was attended by Mayor P.G. Comeau, descendants of Gideon White, members of the local archival and genealogical community, and historical re-enactors.

Eleanor Robertson Smith of the Shelburne County Archives & Genealogical Society introduced the website with a speech that touched on a few of the letters in the White Family collection.

Philip Hartling, a senior archivist at NSARM, gave a guided tour of the virtual exhibit and demonstrated how to search for and find documents in the collection.
