"Hon. J.A.D. McCurdy congratulates LAC McCaffrey

"It was decided that the job would be undertaken by Station Trenton, Ontario, and a group of the RCAF personnel there, headed by Leading Aircraftsman Lionel McCaffrey of Calgary, was given the assignment. This group was particularly interested in pioneer aircraft, and LAC McCaffrey had already had experience in building them. Here was their chance to construct an authentic replica of one of the early ‘flying machines'. The help of other Air Force tradesmen and airwomen at the base was enlisted, and many hours of these people's spare time went into planning and building the ‘Silver Dart'. Additional help in production of metal parts was given by the Technical Staff of No. 6 Repair Depot at Trenton." in The Silver Dart Lives Again!, [2008-058/002/#2]
