'Let Your Fingers Do the Walking'

Using City, Provincial, Telephone and Business Directories in Archival Research

Telephone Directories

NSARM holdings for telephone directories can be determined from the Library Card Catalogue in the Archives Reading Room, listed under ‘Telephone, N.S. - Directories'. We have a sampling of various annual listings published over the years by both the Nova Scotia Telephone Company and the Maritime Telegraph & Telephone Company (MTT), plus their subsidiaries. Our earliest telephone directory covers the whole province and dates from October 1888, but the majority of our holdings are from the 1930s onward.
