NSBI Appoints New Chair to Board of Directors

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (Dec. 2004 - Nov. 2022)

An accomplished businessman with more than 30 years of industry experience has been appointed chair of the province's business development agency.

Economic Development Minister Percy Paris and Doug Hall, outgoing board chair of Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), announced today, Nov. 17, the appointment of Jim Eisenhauer as chair of the agency's private-sector board of directors.

As a director of the board and a former vice chair, Mr. Eisenhauer has been involved in guiding NSBI's activities since 2005.

"So much of this province's economic momentum can be attributed to globally driven business leaders like Jim Eisenhauer," said Mr. Paris. "NSBI's board of directors brings a wealth of knowledge and business expertise to NSBI and the province. Its leadership within NSBI and in the community is helping create good jobs and grow the economy."

Mr. Eisenhauer is president and CEO of ABCO Group Limited and is CEO of its subsidiary ABCO Industries Ltd. He is also president of West Nova Fuels Ltd., Nova Wood Products Ltd., and Superline Fuels Ltd. Mr. Eisenhauer replaces Doug Hall, who has served on NSBI's board since 2003 and as chair since 2007.

"It's been a pleasure serving on NSBI's board and I'm pleased to welcome Jim as the incoming chair. Jim is a veteran in business development, and I'm confident he'll lead NSBI in the same way he leads his own company -- with collaborative energy and a competitive drive to succeed," said Mr. Hall.

"My staff and I have learned a lot from Doug's business expertise and clear vision throughout the years, and we welcome Jim, who will bring the same commitment and leadership as our incoming board chair," said Stephen Lund, president and CEO of NSBI.

Business men and women from communities across Nova Scotia, representing various industries, make up NSBI's private sector-led board. Members may serve up to four years per term and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms.
