HST Retailer Toolkit Available

Finance (to Oct. 2013)

The Department of Finance has posted an HST toolkit on its website to provide retailers with additional information on the HST restoration effective July 1st.

"We are dedicated to getting our province back to balance," said Finance Minister Graham Steele. "I'd like to thank Nova Scotian retailers for their understanding and cooperation while we take on the hard work to start living within our means."

The toolkit features high-resolution PDF signage that retailers can print and post in their stores, a checklist explaining the tax restoration and background information on the HST.

On July 1st, the HST will be restored to 15 per cent, when the provincial portion of the HST increases from eight per cent to 10 per cent. The HST is expected to generate an additional $214.8 million in 2010-11, and $307.5 million in 2011-12.
