Gambling Study Re-tendered

Environment and Labour (Oct. 2000 - March 2008)

A new Request for Proposals for a study into the social and economic impacts of gambling in Nova Scotia has been issued by the Department of Environment and Labour.

The department is re-tendering because the bid received from a public tender in August did not meet requirements.

The proposal request is posted on the government procurement website at www.gov.ns.ca/tenders . The deadline for bids is Jan. 30, 2007.

The study to assess and understand the social and economic impacts of gambling in Nova Scotia is a commitment of the provincial Gaming Strategy and will put Nova Scotia at the forefront of gambling research in Canada.

The Department of Environment and Labour is the lead agency of an interdepartmental committee overseeing the study.
