NSLC Stores Collect Donations for Hurricane Relief

Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation

Customers shopping in Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) stores can now make donations to the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund at any one of the NSLC's 108 stores.

Funds raised across the province will assist with the disaster recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. The city of New Orleans and areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida are greatly in need of assistance and NSLC employees and customers are eager to help.

"Donation boxes will be placed at every NSLC store checkout until further notice," said Carrie Cussons, acting NSLC president. "We conducted a similar initiative during the tsunami relief effort, which was very successful, and we are pleased to offer our support again to our neighbours."

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation generates almost a half a billion dollars of revenue a year, returning in excess of $170 million profit annually to the province. It employs more than 1,300 Nova Scotians, offering 3,000 products from around the globe through 108 retail and 22 agency stores across the province.
