  • Some of the birds considered to be most at risk or sensitive in Nova Scotia include Peregrine Falcon, Roseate Tern, Piping Plover, Harlequin Duck and Bicknells Thrush

  • There are about 9,600 species of birds in the world

  • Birds have the highest number of accidental species (N=173) and proportionally the lowest number of species at risk (RED ~1.0%) of any taxonomic group considered
