The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources Library is open to staff from 8am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, and to the public from 8.30am - 4pm. The library is closed at noon on Christmas Eve, and all day on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Canada Day, Natal Day, and Remembrance Day. Photocopies/prints, letter, legal or ledger size: $0.21 per page Publications and published maps: prices vary, please contact the Library for more information. Interlibrary Loans: no cost Reference Services: no cost The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources Library does not accept payment by direct debit. Appropriate taxes are applied to all fees. DNR Publications - Ordering Information All Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources publications are distributed through the Library. Please contact us if you wish to order publications. The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources Library requires prepayment on all orders. We accept Visa, Mastercard, cheque or money order. Cheques and money orders must be in Canadian dollars. Cheques should be made payable to the Minister of Finance. Visitors to the Library may pay with cash or by the methods above, the Library does not accept payment by direct debit. Tax Applicable taxes will be added. Residents of Atlantic Canada must pay 13% HST on all maps, copies, and shipping, 5% GST on publications. Residents of other Canadian provinces must pay 5% GST only. Residents of foreign countries are not taxed. Shipping Shipping charges are as follows: Total Cost of Order: The Library has two public access computer terminals with internet access. These computers also allow patrons to access DNR databases such as the Drillholes Database, Mineral Occurrence Database, as well as the Library Catalogue, NovaScan, Geoscan, and other resources. There is no charge for using these terminals. It is not necessary to reserve a computer. The Library also houses a public access computer for the Mineral Resources Branch GIS. Patrons may produce and print geological maps for a small fee. It is not necessary to reserve the GIS workstation. As well, the Library has two microfiche reader/printers, a photocopier and map printer. The map printer is used for copying Library materials only. None of the copiers require a photocopy card or change, we ask that you see Library staff to pay for your copies. Food and drink is permitted in the reading area of the Library.
