Christmas trees are a valuable resource in the Nova Scotia forest industry. Forest Health has collected and generated information on some insect and disease species that effect the production of Christmas trees.
Christmas trees growers face a different type of damage from forest insects and diseases. Although insects and diseases that can cause tree mortality are important, also of concern are those that cause the appearance of the tree to suffer. In that way, insects and diseases that cause little or no concern in a forest setting are serious pest in a Christmas tree lot.
This page will give you access to life history, damage symptoms, and control options for some insects and diseases that effect Christmas trees.
