Our outdoor programs foster a sense of stewardship and sustainable development of our natural resources.
We offer many curriculum-based programs for school and community groups. As well, a number of special events are held throughout the year.
Less then an hour's drive from metropolitan Halifax, the Natural Resources Education Center is nestled in the beautiful Musquodoboit Valley. The 80 hectare woodland provides opportunities for field tours, exhibits and demonstrations. Self-guided interpretive trails can be used for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or nature hikes. Many of the trails are wheelchair accessible, featured in "Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia".
