Who is eligible to apply for the 2009 Moose Hunting License Draw?

You are eligible to apply if:

• you are a resident of Nova Scotia
• you have a valid Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources Card
• you are 18 years of age or over by May 31, 2009
• you have not held a Nova Scotia Moose hunting license within the past five years (2004-2008)
• your hunting privileges are not suspended

How to Apply by Phone

The Application Phone line opens April 1 and closes May 31, 2009.

Before you Call

Have the following information handy:

1. The Season and Moose Hunting Zone in which you want to hunt.
2. Your Wildlife Resources Card ID number. 
3. Your complete current mailing address.
4. Your telephone number(s)

Application Line

Enter by calling 1-900-565-3337. The call cannot be made by cell phone.

The application line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from April 1st to May 31st.

You may only apply once. Only one application per hunter will be entered into the draw.

This is not an information line. You will be charged $6.11 plus HST every time this number is called.

If you have any questions, please contact your nearest Department of Natural Resources Office.

APPLY ONLINE You will be prompted for a credit card to which a fee of $6.11 + HST will be charged.

How to Apply by Mail

Applicants who choose not to apply by phone may apply by downloading and completing the Mail-in Application Form. Completed applications are to be mailed, along with an application fee of $10.19 plus HST ($11.51) to:

Completed applications must be received in Halifax no later than 4:30 pm, May 29, 2009. No applications will be accepted after this date.

Moose Draw Location

The 2009 Nova Scotia Moose Draw occurred at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the East Bay Legion, Sydney Forks, Cape Breton County.

Names of winners will only be announced at the public draw. They will not be published in newspapers or online.

Winners will be notified by mail. Applicants can also check their individual results online by clicking HERE.
