Who is eligible to apply for the 2013 Moose Hunting License Draw?

You are eligible to apply if:

  • you are a resident of Nova Scotia
  • you have a valid Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources Card
  • you are 18 years of age or over
  • you have not held a Nova Scotia Moose hunting license within the past five years (2008-2012)
  • your hunting privileges are not suspended

How to Apply

Application period is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until midnight on May 31st, 2013

 

Before you Apply

Have the following information handy:

  1. The Season and Moose Hunting Zone in which you want to hunt.
  2. Your Wildlife Resources Card ID number. To update your telephone number or mailing address click here

NOTE: Applicants may apply once for the regular motorized access hunt (Seasons 1 and 2, Zones 1 to 4, and Season 7, Zones 1 and 5) and once for the non-motorized access hunt (Seasons 1 to 6, Zone 5). An applicant wishing to apply to both hunts must submit two separate applications and will be charged the application fee for each one.

IMPORTANT: If an applicant is drawn for both the regular motorized-access hunt (Seasons 1 and 2, Zones 1 to 4; and Season 7, Zones 1 and 5) and for the non-motorized access hunt (Seasons 1 to 6, Zone 5), they must choose which hunt they would like to participate in and forfeit the other

How to Apply by Mail

Applicants who choose not to apply by phone may apply by downloading and completing the Mail-in Application Form. Completed applications are to be mailed, along with an application fee of $11.35 plus HST = $13.05 to:

Completed applications must be received in Halifax no later than 4:30 pm, May 31st, 2013. No applications will be accepted after this date.

The Moose Draw

The 2013 Nova Scotia Moose Draw will take place at 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 25th, 2013 at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Center, 606 Reeves Street, Inverness County.
The draw can also be viewed on the NSFAH website where it will be streamed live via webcast.

Names of winners will be announced at the public draw. They will not be published in newspapers.

Winners will be notified by mail. Applicants can also check their individual results online.
