Canada's Wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp PrintWildlife Habitat Canada - The Program In 1985, Wildlife Habitat Canada, a non-profit foundation, initiated a national tradition - Canada's first wildlife Habitat Conservation Stamp and limited edition print. Patterned after the highly successful U.S. Duck Stamp program, revenues from WHY stamp and print sales are committed to acquiring, maintaining, and preserving Canada's varied natural habitats for wildlife and plant species. Protection of wetlands is the program's primary focus. because over 80% of North America's waterfowl breed in Canada, this environmental effort is vital to the entire continent. Spanning the breadth of Canada, over 90 projects which encompass more than 61,000 acres have already been funded by revenues generated by WHY and the many sportsments' organizations which support these important conservation programs.
