Mission Statement

To increase the amount of exploration and development of Nova Scotia's mineral resources through sound promotional activities.

Activities

  • Organize, coordinate and attend trade shows, conferences and conventions to promote Nova Scotia's mineral exploration and development opportunities
  • Act as point of contact for mineral industry representatives. Arrange for meetings between industry representatives and DNR staff
  • Develop and coordinate the production of promotional literature including brochures, overview reports and bibliographies. Contribute to the quarterly newsletter, Minerals Update
  • Organize and coordinate the annual Mining Matters for Nova Scotia conference
  • Provide promotional assistance to local prospectors and mining companies to promote their mineral properties to a local, national and international audience
  • To assist in developing symposia and field trips for promoting the province's mineral resource opportunities
  • Investigate advertising and public relations opportunities to promote the province
  • Conduct limited field and research projects to help provide information to promote Nova Scotia's mineral potential
