Abstract

This digital product is a compilation of geological data which was collected as part of the Targeted Geoscience Initiative Project from 2000-2003, as well as additional field mapping by C. E. White. The data was used to create Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources (NSDNR) Open File Map OFM ME 2008-1, compiled by C. E. White and R. C. Boehner, 2008. The digital product was created by the NSDNR, Mineral Resources Branch (MRB) staff. The original digital data was compiled from a number of sources and supplemented by field done during the course of the project. The digital product contains layers for geological features such as: drillholes, faults, bedrock geology units, geological contacts, mineral occurrences, neatline, outcrops, quarries and structural data.

This digital product was generated using funds provided under the Natural Resources Canada and Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources joint project 'Geological Mapping for Mineral Development in South-central Cape Breton Island', part of Natural Resources Canada's Targeted Geoscience Initiative (TGI) 2000-2003.
