Public Safety
The Public Safety Division promotes safety in the province by:
- administering acts & regulations dealing with public and mechanical safety with regard to:
- boilers and pressure vessels
- pressure vessels
- refrigeration plants
- high pressure welding procedures
- elevators and lifts
- amusement devices
- buildings
- certifying boiler, refrigeration, & compressor plants, power engineers, and crane operators
- supporting the advisory body for the building and plumbing codes and electrical codes
- supporting boards of examiners associated with the division and provided for by the acts & regulations administered by the division
- regulating and promoting fire safety in buildings and safe storage of flammable and combustible materials
