Labour Market Development Agreement (LMDA)

Under the LMDA, the Government of Canada will provide Employment Insurance-based funding to the Province of Nova Scotia for services to people who are eligible to receive EI supports.

The LMDA will give the province a new role in delivering employment benefits and support measures, as of July 1, 2009, and the ability to tailor programs to Nova Scotia’s needs.

Labour Market Agreement (LMA)

Under the LMA, the Government of Canada will provide annual funding to the Province of Nova Scotia for programs and services for low-skilled workers, and unemployed Nova Scotians who are not eligible for EI-based programming available under the LMDA.
