Clause 1 provides that the Act and the regulations do not apply to a person in respect of a residence occupied by the person.
Clause 2 requires that a committee be appointed to review and report to the Minister on the Act and regulations and provides for when regulations cease to have effect.
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Chapter 7 of the Acts of 1996, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 19 the following Section:
2 Chapter 7 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 83 the following heading and Section:
REVIEW OF ACT AND REGULATIONS
(2) Persons who are interested in serving on the committee appointed pursuant to subsection (1) may apply to the Human Resources Committee in the form determined by the Committee.
(3) The committee appointed pursuant to subsection (1) shall report, in writing, to the Minister within six months of the date of its appointment with recommendations regarding any required amendments to the Act or the regulations.
(4) Regulations made pursuant to this Act cease to have effect one year from the date of the report required pursuant to subsection (3) and any regulations made pursuant to this Act after that date cease to have effect every three years thereafter.
(5) For greater certainty, nothing in subsection (4) prevents regulations made pursuant to this Act from being amended from time to time or, after the report required by this Section, re-enacted without amendment.
