Legislative Television Broadcast and Recording Services was established in 1991 to provide live televised proceedings from the House of Assembly.

This division, under the direction of the Speaker, is responsible for recording Legislative debates, Standing or Select Committees and Commissions of the Legislature. The recorded audio is delivered to Hansard for transcription.

Legislative Television also provides audio and video production services for Members of the Legislative Assembly and government departments/agencies.

All live coverage and rebroadcasts are available on EastLink digital cable channel 95. Legislative Television programming is also carried on EastLink Television (channel 10) Tuesday, Noon - 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., and Thursday, Noon - 4:00 p.m. when the Legislature is in session.

Guidelines for use of Legislative Television video information:

The Speaker of the Nova Scotia Assembly grants permission to record the televised proceedings of the Legislature for use in schools and for other purposes such as private study, research review or newspaper summary. Television and radio broadcasters may make use of recorded excerpts of the televised proceedings in their news or public affairs programs for the purposes of fair and accurate reports of proceedings. Program material may not be used for political party advertising, election campaigns, or any other politically partisan activity. Any other commercial use or rebroadcast of these televised proceedings requires the express written approval of the Speaker.
