                  An Act to Amend Chapter 293
                 of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
                     the Motor Vehicle Act



         Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:


         1  Subsection 21(1) of Chapter 293 of the Revised Statutes,
1989, the Motor Vehicle Act, is amended by striking out "at the
end of the month and year endorsed on the vehicle permit" in
the second and third lines and substituting "on the date specified
or determined by regulation".


         2  Section 79 of Chapter 293 is amended by striking out
"at the end of the month and year endorsed on the license" in
the first and second lines and substituting "on the date specified
or determined by regulation".


         3  (1) Subsection 153(1) of Chapter 293 is amended by
adding ", town or municipality" immediately after "city" in the
second line.

            (2) Subsection 153(2) of Chapter 293, as amended by
Chapter 12 of the Acts of 1994-95, is further amended by

                (a) adding ", town or municipality" immediately
            after "city" in the first line; and

                (b) adding "or town" immediately after "city" in
            the first line of clause (a).


         4  Section 154 of Chapter 293 is amended by striking out
"or town" in the first and in the third lines and substituting in
each case ", town or municipality".


         5  Sections 1 and 2 come into force on such day as the
Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
