Education

Graduate of the Nova Scotia Teachers College; bachelor of arts Mount Saint Vincent University; bachelor of education Mount Saint Vincent University; master of education Saint Mary's University (administration).

Employment History

Retired school board administrator (assistant superintendent) Chignecto-Central Regional School Board; Former school principal (North River Elementary School).

Political Career

Elected to the Legislative Assembly in June 2006. She has served as:

  • Minister of Education
  • Former chair of the Colchester East Hants Health Authority.

Family

Lives in the Annapolis Valley with husband, Glen. Two grown sons: Shawn in Truro and Kevin in Halifax.
