Background:
The Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act & General Regulations were proclaimed on July 1, 2003. Subsequently, all existing trade regulations need to be reviewed to ensure they meet the needs of industry under the current Act.
Status:
On April 10th, 2010 an ad was placed in the Chronicle Herald and the Cape Breton Post, calling for interested persons to apply to be part of an ad hoc advisory committee to review the current trade regulation and make amendments. Unfortunately, there was not enough interest from industry to form a review committee. The meeting has been postponed until more applications come in. The Apprenticeship Board will continue to accept applications and will notify committee members when a meeting has been scheduled.
