Automotive Glass Technician
Background:
The Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act and General Regulations were proclaimed on July 1, 2003. Subsequently, all existing trade regulations need to be reviewed to ensure they meet the needs of industry under the current Act. The Board established an ad hoc advisory committee in June 2007 to create a trade regulation for the Automotive Glass trade.
Purpose:
To develop a new regulation for the Automotive Glass Technician trade.

- September 17, 2008 the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Board received an application from the Nova Scotia Automotive Glass Industry Advisory Committee to designate Automotive Glass Technician as a trade under the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act.
- The Board made a recommendation to the Minister of Labour and Workforce Development, for Automotive Glass Technician to become a designated trade.
- Meeting was held March 4th, 2009 to create draft regulation
- Automotive Glass Technician was designated as a trade in Nova Scotia on March 31, 2009
- Draft regulation was sent out for industry consultation from June 11 – July 2, 2009.
- Draft regulation was presented before the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Board on March 17, 2010
- Draft regulation is currently under legal review
