Ad Hoc Advisory Committee (AHAC)

AHACs

A Trade Regulation Review Ad Hoc Advisory Committee (AHAC) is an industry group representing both employers, employees, unions and open shop organizations.

The following criterion was considered in the formation of each Trade Regulation Review Ad Hoc Advisory Committee (AHAC):

  •      Nominees for an ad hoc advisory committee are to be actively involved in the related trade or industry.  Actively involved means: currently working as an apprentice or journeyperson in the related trade(s); working in a supervisory role with apprentices and/or journeyperson(s) in the related trade(s); or, considered appropriate for AHAC membership by the Board or its Partnership task team
  •      An equal number of employer and employee members
  •      No less than four and no more than eight members
  •      Where applicable, members representing trade distribution across the province (geographic consideration)

In addition to the four to eight AHAC members, in attendance will be the Board's Administrator, one member of the Board and representatives from the Apprenticeship Training and Skill Development division of the Department of Labour and Workforce Development. A Chair is to be selected from the committee members.

How to apply:

The first step of the process in reviewing trade regulations is for the Board to form an ad hoc advisory committee. An ad is placed in the newspaper (province wide) calling for interested persons to apply. If interested, persons may send a copy of their resume along with a cover letter stating their qualifications to the Board Administrator at the address below:
