Classes of Vehicles to be Tested at Official Testing Stations Regulations
made under subsection 201(3) of the
Motor Vehicle Act

Ministerial Order dated April 18, 1990
Pursuant to subsection (3) of Section 201 of Chapter 293 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Motor Vehicle Act, I hereby order
1 That the following classes of vehicles be inspected at an official testing station:
(a) all passenger motor vehicles and station wagons;
(b) all trucks and truck tractors;
(c) all panel delivery trucks, vans, ambulances and hearses;
(d) all Jeep type vehicles;
(e) all reconstructed vehicles;
(f) all implements of husbandry not displaying a slow moving sign as prescribed by the Motor Vehicle Act;

(g) all motor vehicle service, repair or towing trucks;
(h) all fire department vehicles;
(i) all motorized homes of self-propelled design intended for use as temporary or permanent living accommodations;
(j) all buses not licensed as public vehicle carriers, with the exception of passenger vehicles with a seating capacity of sixteen or more persons as defined in subsection (h) of Section 2 of Chapter 292 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Motor Carrier Act;
(k) all motorcycles and motor-driven cycles;
(l) all trailers, except mobile homes being towed to retail sales outlets or to permanent locations; and
(m) all vehicles having permanently mounted on a truck or truck tractor chassis, a crane, lifting device, well-drilling or other miscellaneous equipment.
2 That vehicles which pass inspection shall be issued with an approval sticker, which shall be valid for a twelve (12) month period from the date of issuance. In subsequent years vehicles will be required to be inspected in accordance with the date shown on the approval windshield sticker.
3 That no vehicle within one of the classes set out above may be operated unless a current approval sticker is properly affixed to it.
4 That all previous Orders made pursuant to subsection (3) of Section 201 of the said Motor Vehicle Act are rescinded. Notwithstanding this, approval stickers issued prior to the date of this Order remain in full force and effect, and are subject to the expiry date indicated thereon.
