Application Process: Determining Whether FOIPOP Applies
The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act provides access to most records under the control of the provincial government, while protecting the privacy rights of individuals. FOIPOP strives for balance between the public's right to know and an individual's right to privacy.
A person may obtain records containing information, providing the information requested is not excluded from FOIPOP. This is the first step in processing an application.
