The Nova Scotia Diamond Jubilee Program will engage young Nova Scotians and help them better understand how our government works, and how leadership and community involvement makes our province a better place to live.
The province has established a one-time legacy commemorative scholarship in honour of each year of Her Majesty's 60-year reign. The $2,000 Diamond Jubilee Scholarship will be awarded to 60 graduating high school students who have demonstrated leadership and active citizenship. For more information on the award program visit http://diamondjubilee.ednet.ns.ca.
An on-line learning tool will be implemented in the school curriculum for
grades two to eleven that will engage teachers and students, provide information
on the Diamond Jubilee, Her Majesty's role in Canadian government and active
citizenship. It will offer students a range of learning activities and allow
them to share ideas and resources. For further information on the learning tool,
