Information Sessions

Table with information papers, etc.The commission provides free information sessions to community groups and any interested organizations as a part of our community education mandate to promote non-discriminatory practices in the province. The sessions range from one to two hours and topics include:

  • Human Rights in Nova Scotia - What are your rights?
  • The Complaints Process
  • How to set up a diversity committee
  • Developing Respectful workplace policy

Information sessions can be tailored to include specific information about one or more human rights issues by request.

Information Display Booths

The commission provides display booths at events held in the province on specific protected characteristics or areas relating to the Nova Scotia Human Rights Act.

Recent displays include:

  • Halifax Regional Municipality Diversity Day (2008)
  • Tools for Life – making living, learning and working easier (2008)
  • Black Business Initiative- Sustaining Business Excellence (2008)
  • Nova Scotia Career Development Association – Navigating the winds of change (2008)
