Public Education - Consultation

We encourage members of the public to contact us and ask questions whether or not they have a human rights complaint.

We regularly meet with people to discuss various aspects of human rights principles at work, in their communities and as volunteers. We also hold focus groups to get input from members of the public on improving our services.

Policy Development and Review

We offer support to small medium and large businesses seeking to develop or improve their workplace policies. While we provide advice, our information does not impede our independence and thus ability to address human rights issues that may arise.

Please contact us for a free review of your current policies.

You can also look at our human rights policy guide for ideas on how to improve your current workplace policies.

Workshops

The human rights education process begins long before training sessions.

Educational activities use adult learning principles and participatory models. Facilitators and participants must work together to deliver a successful training program.

Staff at the commission will meet with parties interested in training to discuss needs and specifically target activities to meet those needs.

Workshops are often designed to fit specific needs as identified by interested parties.

Follow Up

Learning also continues after training sessions. Commission staff also provides follow-up sessions for interested parties following the implementation of programs.

Participants at our workshops represent diverse staff in organizations, business owners, human resource professionals, educators and members of the general public.

As participants continue to interact with each other they become a support network for insight on resolving disputes and addressing the challenges that come up after the workshop.

Please contact us if you have questions or are interested in participating in any of our training products.
