Krista Daley was appointed to the position of Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission on May 1, 2008. She has worked in the field of human rights since 1990. She is a lawyer and holds a Master’s of Law degree in Constitutional Law with a focus on the equality provisions of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Krista worked at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada where she held numerous positions such as hearings officer, adjudicator, legal advisor, special advisor to the Chairperson, and most recently Senior General Counsel and Director General, Operations. In addition, Krista worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva, Switzerland in 2005-2006.
She has written extensively on various aspects of refugee rights and has given numerous presentations on topics relating to human rights over the years.
