| You’re looking at members of the next generation of a healthier Nova Scotia.
Anna Galvin, Jordan March, Jeanne Farrell, and many other students wanted to do something to promote healthy living to their school communities. The result was the Healthy Lifestyle Club.
Today, the Healthy Lifestyle Clubs are enjoying healthy student involvement at Northumberland Regional High School, Pictou Academy and North Nova Education Centre. Students at each school had a say in the programs offered in their school’s Club, and now participate in a range of activities from Pilates and cooking clubs, to weight training and wellness lessons.
The students also write and produce a Healthy Lifestyle newsletter called "Scoop," which focuses on a different health priority each month.
When good habits are formed young, there’s a better chance they’ll last a lifetime. The Healthy Lifestyle Clubs wants to make Nova Scotia a healthier place to live, and so does Health Promotion. That's why we're proud to support community partners.
Chronic Disease Prevention is one area of focus Nova Scotia Health Promotion has identified and is addressing to make Nova Scotia healthier. Find out more about our other initiatives:
