The Renewal of Public Health in Nova Scotia: Building a Public Health System to Meet the Needs of Nova Scotians, is a thorough review of Nova Scotia's public health system. The report, including all of its recommendations, was accepted by government in 2006. Establishing the Department of Health Promotion and Protection is one of the main recommendations of the report.
