Nova Scotia Health Promotion is leading the development of a Nova Scotia Sport Plan as part of our commitment and contribution to the Canadian Sport Policy.
Canada Games
Supports Team Nova Scotia's development and participation at the Canada Games - a national multi-sport competition between the 10 provinces and three territories.
Coaching Development
Coordinates and delivers the 3M NCCP theory coach certification program.
Funding
Nova Scotia Health Promotion provides funding to Sport Nova Scotia as the sport federation, and for the operation of the Sport and Recreation Administration Centre. Funding is also provided to:
Hosting
In 2007, Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection conducted a situation analysis, and, through consultation with stakeholders in the sport community, a set of recommendations to assist the Department with the development a Sport Hosting Strategy.

Provincial Sport Organizations (PSOs)
Eligible provincial sport groups are provided with funding to offer programs and services. Provincial Sport Organizations can be found through the Sport Nova Scotia website.
Special Initiatives
Provides material and human support for initiatives, such as the Canadian Sport Centre - Atlantic Region, and the prevention of abuse and harassment.
