Healthy Living Tax Incentive

The healthy living tax incentive provides an allowable tax credit of up to $500 per child to help with the cost of registering children and youth in sport or recreation activities that offer health benefits.

Active Kids Healthy Kids

Active Kids Healthy Kids is a physical activity strategy for children, youth and families in Nova Scotia. It is a comprehensive strategy shared by government, non-government organizations, and residents of Nova Scotia. It was introduced in fall of 2002 and the renewed strategy was released in the fall of 2007.

Active Kids Online Reference Resource

Activekidsns.ca is a free online reference resource that supports those who promote physical activity for children and youth. This user-friendly searchable database offers success stories and evidence-based interventions from Nova Scotia and elsewhere. Also featured is an inventory of programs, resources and tools. The resource is managed by Recreation Nova Scotia and funded by the Nova Scotia Department of Health Promotion and Protection.
