Supervised Beaches
In partnership with the Lifesaving Society, the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service provides supervision of key Nova Scotia beaches.
Beach-goers should keep some safety tips in mind, including:
- Swim between the red and yellow flags that mark the supervised portion of the beach
- Parents should keep their children within arm's reach on the beach and in the water
- It is illegal to consume alcohol on beaches: An overwhelming number of drowning and water-related incidents are tied to alcohol consumption.
Following is a list of 23 beaches supervised by the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service from Friday, July 1,2011 until Sunday, August 29, 2011 unless otherwise specified. Beaches are guarded daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
