H1N1 Assessment Centres

Primary assessment centres will provide an option for individuals presenting with an influenza-like illness (ILI) to be screened, assessed, and treated. The intent of the primary assessment centres is to provide individuals presenting with ILI with a brief (about 15 minutes), highly specific assessment that will expedite appropriate treatment and reduce potential influenza transmissions.

Centres will be opened by districts when and where they are needed based on the district's capacity to assess and treat patients with flu sumptoms.

  Please Note: Due to a decrease in influenza activity the Flu Assessment Centre will close at 6:30 p.m. November 20. The centre may reopen in the future based on need.

• Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority
  Starting November 14th, the Flu Assessment Centres in Antigonish and the Strait Richmond Hospital will be closed. If you are seeking an assessment for flu symptoms please contact your family physician or an after-hours clinic or local emergency room.
