Family Volunteer of the Year Award

The Province of Nova Scotia is proud to present the Family Volunteer of the Year award of 2008 to the Nicholson Family of Kentville. The Nicholson Family of Kentville, Nova Scotia includes Scott, Jocelyn, and their three children, Rhianna, age 14, Gareth age 12, and Meghan, age 9. The Nicholson’s are being recognized today for the tremendous contributions they are making, both individually and as a family, to the Kentville community.  With Jocelyn as President, and Rhianna as volunteer helper and coach, this family has contributed countless hours to the local Kentville Marlins Swim team.  The entire family helps organize the local swim meet.  The Nicholsons also put a team effort in their volunteer work with the Kentville Minor Basketball, where Scott coaches the girl’s mini team with the help of Rhianna, Jocelyn does the paperwork, and even Gareth models some demonstrations.  Jocelyn also has served as chairperson for Kentville and Area Youth Association for more than five years. The family also volunteer with their church whenever needed.  Many thanks to the Nicholson family for their contributions to their community.
