Food for Thought – Sydney Academy adopts leaner, greener menu to nourish healthy minds.
Food for Thought – Sydney Academy adopts leaner, greener menu to nourish healthy minds.

Believing that healthy minds needed healthy bodies, Sydney Academy decided to change its eating habits. First, they dumped the deep fryers. So, bye-bye, French fry. Then they switched from white rice to brown, added more fruit choices and began serving a leaner chicken.

These days, the Nutrition Committee is working to put more international food on the menu to serve the school's growing international student population. As with all their other innovations, they're sure the student body will eat this one up.

Try changing the menu in your house for healthier choices. It's easier than you'd think to create simple , tasty, nourishing meals for the whole family . Need ideas? Go to www.moms and dads.ca to find recipes and tips on easy family meals.

Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection is proud to salute schools like Sydney Academy for helping make healthy choices the easy choice for students . Every day, they're making Nova Scotia a healthier place to learn.

Healthy Eating is a priority that Nova Scotia Health Promotion and Protection is addressing to help make Nova Scotia healthier.
