Addiction Services

Addiction Services helps to improve the lives of Nova Scotians who are harmfully involved with alcohol, gambling, tobacco, or other drugs.

Our goal is to help the person, their family and friends, and their entire community, so Nova Scotia will be a healthy and safe place to live, work and raise a family.

We provide provincial leadership for this complex health and social issue by:

  • offering free, confidential prevention and treatment resources & services to anyone affected by addiction.
  • providing policy makers with the information they need to protect and promote the health of Nova Scotians.
  • ensuring that Nova Scotians across the province receive the highest standard of service that meets their needs.
  • raising awareness, providing accurate information, and supporting research.

A range of services are provided free of charge to Nova Scotians across the province through the Addiction Services offices in Nova Scotia's District Health Authorities and the IWK.
