About the Plan
Heat Smart is our plan to help Nova Scotians save energy and money this winter and for years to come. Our plan will make a real difference for seniors, families and other individuals — and it is a plan taxpayers can afford.
Our main focus is to encourage and help people make changes to their homes that will save them energy and money year after year.
We know those changes take time, and the bills will be coming in this winter. That's why we are providing more money to more people to help this year.
As well, we are providing more information–including how-to videos, fact sheets, and a comprehensive tips brochure–to help you make many repairs yourself.
It could still be a tough winter. We can get through it by working together — government, charities, our oil companies, neighbours helping neighbours, and individuals and families. That's what our plan is based on.
