What We're Doing
Nova Scotians want shorter wait times and improved access to health care, and so do we.
In 2010-11 we will spend $3.6 billion on health care. That's 40 percent of the total provincial budget; $212 million more than we spent last year and double what we spent 10 years ago.
We have to take on the hard work to get our finances back to balance while still keeping our commitments to make life better for Nova Scotia families.
The data on this website helps reduce wait times in Nova Scotia:
- It helps the province better manage our resources.
- It helps patients currently on a wait list to find an alternative hospital offering a shorter wait time for the same procedure.
- It helps doctors find facilities with shorter wait times for those patients who are willing to travel.
