The NSTHN provides partner organizations with secure, real-time videoconferencing for clinical, educational and administrative purposes.
Clinical Programs
Clinical services including specialist consultation and case conferencing are available on the NSTHN. Please contact you local NSTHN District Coordinator for a complete list of services available in your area.
The NSTHN is used by a variety of clinical programs through the DHAs/IWK to deliver clinical care in a range of areas including the following:

Educational Activities
In collaboration with educational and clinical groups, the NSTHN is used to provide learning opportunities for health care professionals and patients throughout the province using videoconferencing.
Educational Activities for Health Care Professionals
Continuing Nursing Education
The Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Telehealth Program is delivered in partnership with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia (CRNNS). A Continuing Education Coordinator of CRNNS schedules topics and presenters with input from Registered Nurses from across Nova Scotia on their education needs.
Continuing Medical Education
This Continuing Medical Education (CME) Telehealth Program is delivered in partnership with Dalhousie University Continuing Medical Education (CME). Dalhousie CME develops program content, format and objectives in consultation with Physicians from across Nova Scotia.
Medical Rounds
Specialty rounds are typically broadcast from the Queen Elizabeth II Health Science Centre or the IWK Health Center to sites within Nova Scotia and throughout the Maritimes. These educational sessions allow specialist providers to work closely with colleagues in other locations.
