Trauma System Definition
The Nova Scotia Trauma Program has adopted
the following, as our definition of a Trauma System:
A Trauma System is an organized approach,
within a defined geographic area, that delivers the full spectrum of care and
prevention of injuries and is integrated with the wider health care system.

a Canadian leader in inclusive trauma system design and delivery.

Facilitate provision of optimal trauma care to the community we serve through leadership in trauma system development, injury control, education, and research.
