Adult Protection Services
The Department of Health offers help and support for people age 16 or older who are abused or neglected and who cannot physically or mentally protect or care for themselves. This work is guided by the Adult Protection Act (1985). This Act is currently under review.
If you know of an adult in need of protection, contact the Department of Health by calling 1-800-225-7225 (toll free in Nova Scotia).
