Seniors' Pharmacare Program is an insurance plan that helps pay for prescribed medications, supplies and related services for seniors as prescribed by a doctor, dentist, pharmacist, authorized nurse practitioner or optometrist.
The cost of the program is shared between government and seniors. Seniors' contributions to the Program cost are in the form of annual premiums and copayments. Premiums may be reduced or waived based on the seniors' income. Seniors receiving the Guaranteed Income Supplement are premium exempt.
